Häfele UK helps heroes in housing project

Rugby-based Häfele UK, the leading design solutions specialist, has donated much needed materials for an ambitious charity housing project for ex-service personnel in Manchester.

The storage solutions expert donated essential fixtures and fittings for a number of bespoke shelving units, which featured in the BBC One two-part programme 'DIY SOS: The Big Build Veterans’ Special’, this October. The shelves were part of the BBC’s project to help transform seven derelict houses into three new homes and a new training centre for Armed Forces veterans, as well as landscaping the East Manchester streets they belong to.

Kerry Baulch, Product Manager at Häfele UK said; “We were proud to offer our products to BBC One’s 'DIY SOS: The Big Build Veterans’ Special’. At Häfele, we regularly support good causes and community projects and this ambitious project is going to help so many returning ex-service personnel.”

The two-part programme aired Wednesday, October 14th and Wednesday, October 20th. In total, Häfele donated concealed hinges, push release catches, soft-close drawer runners and drawer boxes.
